Two-story townhouse goes up in flames

Forty-two firefighters battled a fire late Wednesday night in New Orleans East.

The New Orleans Fire Department says the fire ignited just after 10 p.m. at an unoccupied two-story townhouse on Airway Drive.

The fire department says the fire was mostly contained to the original building but an adjacent unoccupied townhouse received moderate fire and water damage.

The fire was brought under control just under 30 minutes after NOFD arrived on scene.

No injuries were reported during the incident and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
