Collierville restaurant Zopita's on the Square permanently closes
Zopita's on the Square, a staple in Collierville's Town Square, is closing its doors for good, the restaurant announced on social media.
Known for its hearty, homemade dishes influenced by co-owner Anna Palazola's Venezuelan and Italian heritage, the beloved restaurant at 114 N. Main St. had become a go-to destination for residents and visitors alike.
Owners Anna and Charlie Palazola lovingly prepared food for customers with open hearts and a desire to make everyone feel seen. While many of their take-home dishes were best suited for larger parties, Anna kept a cooler of smaller portions for empty nesters and single people.
The decision to close wasn’t easy for the married couple, who posted the announcement of their restaurant's pending closure on social media on Thursday evening. The restaurant opened in 2018.
"Due to different health challenges, we’ve made the difficult decision to prioritize our well-being," the business posted. "Our freezer is full! Come by, next week, and grab a tray. It’s a great way to enjoy our delicious meals one last time."

Beginning Nov. 12 the couple will sell everything inside the store, including equipment and furnishings, including the remaining food items.
In the comments section of the announcement post, patrons have been sharing their stories and memories, celebrating the impact Zopita's has had on the community.
"We’ve poured our hearts and souls into this business, and it’s been an incredible journey," Zopita's said in its post.
