Crash happened late Saturday night

A woman was killed and three people were taken to the hospital after a crash in Monroeville.

Allegheny County police said the two-vehicle crash happened on the 3700 block of William Penn Highway a little after 11:55 p.m. Saturday night.

Police said their preliminary investigation showed one vehicle was rear-ended by a Nissan Pathfinder.

The woman who died was a passenger in the Pathfinder.

The three people hospitalized were all reported to be stable.

The investigation is ongoing.
